Summer Harvest Time & Farmers Markets

Wow, it is that time of year again, summer harvest time is here! The cool mountain weather of Northern New Mexico and the region around Angel Fire is perfect for growing a wide variety of fantastic vagetables including many different greens, onions, tomatoes, spinach, herbs, parsley, cilantro, kale, chard, beets, carrots, potatoes, brocolli, green beans, chiles, peppers, cucumbers, and much, much more. The area farmer's markets abound with healthy organic offerings. Of course we also have our own little garden and then we also have friends like Bruce and Dawn who have a large lovely garden growing along Coyote Creek.





We recently spent a wonderful Sunday in their garden gathering vegetables that we then used to make a fantastic afternoon salad and meal that was accompanied with some great wines, including some fine New Mexico vintages.








To cool off we went rafting on Coyote Creek and then went for a long hike. New Mexico is heaven for people who enjoy the healthy outdoor life!
















Today we went to the Friday Farmers Market in Eagle Nest and bought watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, zuchinni, squash, radishes, greens, and onions. We also had one of the best hamburgers I have ever had! Below I have listed the schedules for several Farmer's Markets in the area. We hope to see you at one of them!
