Weekend Report: Well I took my own advise from the previous posting and took the family for a ride this weekend on the Rail Runner Express.
It truly was a great time. The train was almost filled to capacity with tourists and commuters. As you can see from the pictures it is also very comfortable and modern. The Santa Fe Railyard is also a great destination with an REI Sporting Goods Super Store, galleries, bars and great dining spots. However the highlight of our weekend was attending the PBR (Professional Bull Riders Competiton) at the Pit in Albuquerque. Wow, what an event. I had never been to a Professional Bull Riding competition before, and I was impressed.
No country music here, this is a serious adrenaline packed event set to hard core rock and roll. Austin and Barbara never left their seats. Fireworks, jumbo screens, and laser lights are all part of the show, and then of course there is the actual bull riding competiton.
It is amazing to be seated less than thirty feet away from a two thousand pound beast throwing around some guy like a rag doll. If you have never been to a PBR I can recommend that you put it on your calendar. Enjoy the pictures. 
In closing I want to thank Curt and Karen Hanlen for giving Barbara, Austin and I the VIP treatment at the PBR.
